Sammy Figurski, M.A., LLP*
About Sammy
Sammy is a Limited Licensed Psychologist (LLP) specializing in therapy for children, adolescents, and young adults. She brings experience from private practice, crisis intervention, and school-based settings, providing evidence-based care to children, adolescents, and young adults while offering support to their families. Sammy specializes in the treatment of anxiety and related disorders, including obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), as well as depression. She also has extensive experience treating individuals struggling with eating disorders, disordered eating, and body image concerns. Her approach emphasizes evidence-based and culturally sensitive treatment tailored to each individual's unique experiences and needs.
Believing that healing is never a “one-size-fits-all” process, Sammy considers the whole person, emotional, spiritual, mental, and physical, when developing treatment plans. She is committed to meeting clients where they are and creating individualized, comprehensive treatment strategies that support lasting growth and meaningful change. Sammy takes a collaborative, person-centered approach to therapy, integrating cognitive and behavioral interventions to better understand how an individual’s environment influences their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. She works alongside clients and their families to develop practical, effective treatment plans that can be successfully applied both within and beyond the therapy setting. Sammy’s goal as a clinician is to help individuals improve their quality of life.
Sammy serves as a board member of the Michigan Eating Disorder Alliance (MiEDA) and is also a member of the Masters (LLP) Committee through the Michigan Psychological Association (MPA), where she supports the professional development and visibility of LLPs while promoting access to high-quality psychological services for Michigan residents. She has also been involved with the Be Nice. program for the past 15 years and remains passionate about increasing access to mental health resources and supporting suicide prevention efforts within her community.
