Toni Evans, M.A. Clinical Mental Health Counseling Intern*

About Toni

Toni Evans is a Clinical Mental Health Counseling graduate student at the University of the Cumberlands completing her practicum in counseling. Before pursuing counseling, she spent several years as an elementary school teacher, where she developed a passion for helping children and families navigate emotional, behavioral, and developmental challenges.

Toni believes that counseling should be a collaborative process where clients feel safe, heard, and accepted without judgment. She strives to create an environment where individuals can be themselves while building practical skills to improve their mental health and overall well-being. Her counseling approach is grounded in Person-Centered Therapy while incorporating Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) techniques to help clients better understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors.

Toni has a special interest in working with children, adolescents, and young adults. She is especially passionate about supporting individuals with ADHD, anxiety, depression, autism, and other neurodivergent experiences. She also enjoys working with clients from diverse backgrounds and is committed to providing culturally responsive, strengths-based care.

Outside of counseling, Toni enjoys creating art, baking, reading, and exploring creative ways to connect with others through games, storytelling, and music.
